How we are funded

Phoenix Light is a not for profit group that receives a small donation from the group members for the basic running costs of the centre. This may include tea, coffee and biscuits etc, as well as sundry items for the running of the different groups that we do. These are all free to use to anyone who is welcomed into the centre. Any surplus funds that we may make goes to various local causes.

Donations To Good Causes

The Phoenix Light Centre gets a great deal of satisfaction in trying to help community groups in the area with small financial donations where needed. We mostly donate to groups or causes much like ourselves who are non profit and are run on a voluntary basis having no access to outside funding apart from the goodwill and resources of its members.

Some of the local donations have been given to:

Manor Estate Farm Animal Sanctuary

Scawthorpe local Community centre for families

Bullcroft food bank (NDDT)

Christmas selection boxes for the Children's Hospital DRI.

Local groups to help fund street parties for the Queen’s Jubilee

L

Lifeline against the breadline

Crowd fund donation to help local lad from Bentley who is a UK martial arts champion go to European tournament in Italy.

Local dancing troupe in Doncaster

Other local community groups

Step Up (Homeless and food bank charity)

Firefly Cancer awareness and Support

The Phoenix Light Centre is pleased to announce that since we were founded in September 2019 we have raised a total of £2,850 for local good causes as of November 2023. This was in spite of the lockdowns. A big thank you to all of our dedicated members who volunteer their time in keeping the centre running.

Membership

We do not have a formal membership as we regard anyone that visits Phoenix Light as being a member. Everyone is welcomed to the centre. Indeed there is no formal structure as we believe that just as in a family structure, a group such as Phoenix Light should be run on spiritual values that only requires mutual co-operation and friendship.
